Next Monthly Meeting Monthly Meetings are usually held every 4th Wednesday of each month. Our next meeting is a Special General Board Meeting and will be held Wednesday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rural 60 Plus to address vacancies on the Board of Directors, followed by the regular Board meeting at 7:15 p.m. All members welcome to attend.

What is going on in 2010 When you visit the Fair, don't forget you don't have to cook dinner that night! Sunday, September 5 starting at 1:00 p.m.: Deep Pit Barbeque Beef Dinner Monday, September 6 starting at 1:00 p.m.: Home Cooked Turkey Dinner ATTENTION ARTISANS: Hymers Agricultual Society will be holding a Silent Auction on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7. If you are a local artisan / crafter and wish to donate something you've crafted, please contact us at info@hymersfair.com or 475-8586. Baby Photo Contest Submit one 4x6" amateur photo of your child born between September 1, 2009 and July 31, 2010 to win some awesome prizes. See page 87 of our prize book for complete details. Teddies for Tragedies Knit or crochet a Teddy Bear which can be entered into Class K and then we will donate them to a local Emergency organization (Police, Fire) to be given to children in need. Judge School Hymers Fair is hosting a Fruit and Vegetable Judge School on Saturday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Plan on attending and learn how to prepare your exhibits for judging. For more information or to register please call Diana Bockus at 475-8761 or Diane Harrison at 577-6549. Maple the Cow Maple the Cow is coming to Hymers Fair! You will find Maple in or around the barn area Fair weekend. Maple provides a fun and informative "hands-on" way for families to learn about milk and Dairy Farming in Ontario. "Coin" Pool Thunder Bay Farmer's Co-Op will be hosting a swimming pool full of loonies, quarters, dimes and nickels for "kids" ages 9 and up to go "swimming" for. Contest runs Monday, September 6 only. Registrants will be accepted early in the day with names being drawn throughout the afternoon. Contestants will have 30 seconds in the pool to collect as many coins as possible - YOU WILL GET WET! Become a vendor! Without a midway or beer garden, we find that the guests at the fair take the time to view the vendor booths and take advantage of the leisurely pace to talk to exhibitors. It is an unhurried time where people of all ages find something of interest. Perhaps this year, what will interest them the most, is your display!
